Happy Birthday Chris

So here he is...The lad himself...just safely negotiating another birthday.
On the 15th January, he will be embarking on his last year at work, before reaching that magical age of retirement!
We all wish you a very happy birthday Chris, and all the best for the coming year, and you don't look a day over 63 years and 8 months!!
With all best wishes from the Aussie end of the family.

Yummy Rocky Road

This is just to cheer you all up, and take your mind off the rain, which at this moment is once again coming down in Stair-rods!!
Some of you will already have tasted this recipe, so here it is, to while away the hours, waiting for the rain to stop!!

1 Cup Chopped peanuts
200g. Marshmallows...cut in quarters
1/2 Cup Coconut
350-400g. Chopped or broken Chocolate..sweet or dark or a mixture...to your taste
2 Cups Rice Bubbles

Melt chocolate over a saucepan of bubbling water.
Combine dry ingredients in a bowl.
Pour over melted chocolate, mix well, and press into a greased dish.
Allow to cool, then cut or break into pieces.

You can halve this recipe...this is actually double quantities!

Birthday

Just a reminder that it would have been Dad's 91st birthday on Jan 3rd this year.

Hard to believe that both Mum and Dad have been dead for so many years.

As some may know, this picture was taken (by Chris) when we were in England for mum's funeral in 1998!! we went to Coopers for lunch after the service.
I reckon we have all changed a bit since then!! Even if we still feel as young as we looked there!

Is it a fish....or??

This is one of a pair of new fish for the pond. The weirdest looking creature, who swims
like a log, flapping madly and getting nowhere fast!! It's eyes are huge, and is the most un-streamlined creature I've ever seen!!

Oh well....a talking point at least!!

Family Update

The first day of 2011. Here is a picture of Angus and Tiffany, standing casually by the pond, with Angus seemingly riveted on something on the ground!!
After the blazing hot day we had yesterday, we are enjoying the cool change.....40c on New Year's Eve, and 22c today. Just my sort of weather.
No-one stayed up to watch the fireworks last night!! Just too late for me!!
