The Hume Weir

We went away again this week as the last trip was cut short owing to the absolutely steaming hot weather!
This time we went to Albury and drove up to the Hume Weir. Last time we saw it, it was about 100 feet down from the bridge, and almost showing the bottom, but this time, they were letting out the water in a huge gush, as it is so full. Needless to say, after taking these pictures, my camera batteries went flat, so couldn't get the best shots!! Typical!

Still, it was interesting, and we are so glad to see everything green again.

This time the weather was a lot cooler, and we could get outside more.

That is it for a good while now, so it's head down, and get on with a bit of gardening etc!!

My Hero

Well...As you know, Jim has had a dodgy hip for years. Finally, we went to the Maroondah Hospital to get assessed. As we thought...he needs a new one...no surprises there.

After the requisite poking, prodding and stretching, he came away with exercises to try and keep things moving for the moment. Now we wait to hear from the surgeon, which apparently takes a fair amount of time, and when he has seen Jim, then the operation should follow fairly quickly afterwards.

Now the nerves are starting to set in I think...but as the physio bloke said....anything would be an improvement to what he has been going through recently. So it is a waiting game again...isn't it always with hospitals?

Will keep you all posted, and if you hear my screams, you will know he has had it done, and is being the usual bad patient!!

2 Days Away- Sweltering!

At long last we got away for a couple of days. We saw these Sunrise balloons on the way to Yarra Glen, at about 7 o'clock in the morning. A really beautiful sight, and everywhere calm and still.

First night...Echuca...42c!! Steaming hot, so we stayed in the air conditioning most of the time.
Then on to Albury...same again... only upside was, we found a new (to us) motel....spotlessly clean, and brand new bathroom and appliances....Hooray! We have been pondering over where to stay, and up to now, nothing was what we wanted, but now we have found the ideal spot...quiet, although on the main street, and a very short walk to the club and shops!!

However, after 2 days of over 40c, we decided to come home, and wait for cooler weather.

Still...as it turned out, a very pleasant trip.
