Yes folks....Jim has decided that he just doesn't have enough shed-room.....again!! Now that Angus has his motor-bike, plus all the tools etc, and both he and Tiff have mountain bikes, Jim has decided to extend the shed a bit, to house all this extra 'stuff'. He started building in blazing sunshine, and the next day we had torrential rain, but did that deter our 'trouper'? Not on your life....so it is gradually taking shape, and what is good, is that he is using up a lot of odd pieces of building material that have been kicking around up the back for years....so less rubbish to dispose of!! Nice!!!

Lovely Surprise
What a lovely surprise. Dilys' brother Godfrey, and his wife Joy, are in Australia visiting relatives. Dilys gave me the phone number, and I was able to contact them and invite them to pop in. They were staying in Berwick, with an aunt, for a few days, and had already planned to visit the Dandenongs, so came up, had a walk and some lunch, and then popped in to see us and have a cup of tea on the way back. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time, and it was lovely to catch up with someone I hadn't seen since we were teenagers. So I hope the rest of their trip is a success.

What the....!!
Our next door neighbour Kaew came back from 3 months in Thailand (her home) and brought gifts for us. Angus was exceptionally brave, and offered to model the whole lot!! A blinding shirt, with a picture of Cambodia on the front, a bottle of Thai whisky, with strong overtones of meths, and a tissue-box holder in somewhat "bold" hues...not exactly compatible with the kitchen....or any other room come to that. But it was the thought that counted, and as long as she had a good time, then that was the main thing.
I told Angus he could wear the shirt to work, but he declined.....funny that!!

Peggy for the last time
Just to say that it is Peggy's funeral on Friday 17th February. Family will be there. The last of a line. No Torrances left except Jim....and a lot of cousins and extended family of course. Andrew will be there to represent Ellen.

Jim's handywork
How remiss of me. This is the little unit Jim built for the space next to the new fridge. It is just big enough to house the microwave, my cookery books, and some odds and sods. Can't say fairer than that!! Even room for the little radio so I can hear the news first thing in the morning!

What a life
Well !!! Who would have thought it? Jim in the pool (almost) at Echuca. We stayed there for 3 nights this time, and we were fiddling about with the camera...different settings etc. and Jim thought he had the timer mastered! Unfortunately, he wasn't quick enough to join me in the water before it went off, hence the rather pained expression on his face. However, we had glorious weather, and swam every day, so really relaxing.
Unfortunately, when we returned home, it was to find a message on the answering machine to say that Peggy had passed away on the Wednesday,.......ironically, her 93rd birthday. She was very ill for a while, and often said that getting old was no fun, and really, I think she felt that she had lived quite long enough.
