Last Sunday, Angus and a mate spent the day wrestling the driveway hedge into submission. It had grown incredibly high.....no way that we could keep it trim. So it was time for "The Big Cut". Now, it is down to a manageable level. I can go over it with my hedge
trimmer, and keep it in check (hopefully).
Naturally, I forgot to take photos until it was almost finished, then had to dash out with my phone to get a quick snap. but, you can see the idea.A job well done, and we are really thankful for the help.

Biting the bullet!
Our front veranda has been getting more and more rickety over the years. The other week I put my foot through a rotten decking plank....so....we decided it was really time to do something.
We went to Mitre 10 in Monbulk and got some wood. So far we have renewed the joists and bearers that were rotten, and managed to leave the good ones. Now it is a question of the decking going down.
Note;...We do not hurry anything now, so we shall do this last stage as and when we feel able.
The photos were taken with my phone.....just a quick dash outside, and a few quick snaps......not exactly Tony Armstrong Jones!!
We had a very interested spectator. A Kookaburra flew down, and stayed for a while. Then came back for the next few days. No doubt astounded by the workmanship!!
