Dilys' Visit over!

Well, the long-awaited visit from Dilys has come and gone all too briefly. She had just spent 3 weeks in New Zealand with her daughter Claire and family, and arrived here on Monday evening, staying until this morning, when we drove her to Berwick to stay the weekend with her aunt Betty, and to meet various other relatives, before flying home on Monday.
We had quite a busy few days, walking the Patch road on the first day, and the next day we tackled the 1000 steps, located in Ferntree Gully National Park. It was a test, but we triumphed, with a lot of chatter and short breaks on the way up. Not the quickest people there, but we made it with enough breath left for a few laughs. As an added bonus, we spied a lyre bird in the undergrowth....what a magnificent tail!!
Yesterday....a bit of shopping, and a browse round a couple of op. shops....nothing too exhausting after the previous days exertions!!
So here are a few of the pictures we took. And....how lucky were we with the weather...despite the gloomy forecasts. We had blue skies every day, so couldn't have wished for more. I should also note that Dilys helped me out with all sorts of tasks in the garden...raking leaves, and cutting back the hydrangeas, which was such a help.

So here are a few pictures, to show you all how we have changed over the years!!!
